Baby Quilt for Marshall

Our friends Nick and Mary had a baby back in August. Marshall Nicholas Johnson. Mary wanted bright colors for the baby's quilt with gray. So here's what I came up with. Do you like my quilt holding helper?

Quilt pattern was taken from here.

Blue Tongue

Amelia's new favorite picture pose involves sticking her tongue out. It worked out perfectly after she finished her blue sucker from dance class!

After School Downtime

A few weeks ago we had a 'cold' spell. It got into the 70s, so that is why Amelia is in pants in these pictures. She's just enjoying an afternoon snack while she watches Tangled on my tablet.

Makeup

This is for those of you not on Facebook. A couple weekends ago, I woke up at the leisurely time of 8:12 AM. Instead of feeling energized, I felt panic. Amelia never, ever sleeps that late. She had to be up to something.

I found her in our bathroom, covered in lipstick. Her face, arms, and legs all had a lovely, shimmery Bamboo Pink color. She was quite proud of herself. I'm just glad she didn't get it all over her pajamas.

First Fishing Trip

Amelia was very excited to use her light up Tinkerbell fishing pole. She caught bluegills so fast, the poor worms didn't stand a chance!

New Playground

We found a new playground for Amelia this weekend. She isn't quite up to the recommended 5 years old yet, but she still had a blast!

Alaska

Rob and I spent the first week of July in Alaska. We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and it was amazing.
Alaskan Railway from Anchorage to Seward.

Momma and Baby Moose, as seen from the train.

Our haul from a day out fishing. That big guy weighed 101 pounds.

Just a great photo.

Humpback whale diving.

A glacier calving.

Scale of a glacier. It was over 700 feet tall.

Mt. McKinley

On oxygen while we flew over Mt. McKinley.

Deana Rose Farmstead

One of the best places in town to take kids is the Deana Rose Farmstead. It is in the middle of a suburb, but is a working farm. There are goats, cows, pigs, turkeys, chickens, bison, horses, etc. for the kids to see. One of Amelia's favorite parts is petting the goats.

We had some friends visit at the beginning of the summer and thought it'd be fun for Amelia and their daughter to go. Here are some pictures Rob took of them having fun.

Amelia clothes

Just a quick run down of some of the things I've made for Amelia this summer.

Maggie Mae dress aka the cutest dress I've ever made. Little Red Riding Hood with pockets!

Oliver + S Seashore Sundress and matching bloomers.

Go-To Shift dress in pink gingham seersucker.

Oliver + S Family Reunion Dress. This was the birthday dress that she didn't want to wear.

Random knit racer back dress. I also made one in a navy/white stripe.

Also sewn, but not pictured. I made 4 pairs of biker type shorts for wearing under skirts and dresses. I also made a pink skort and a blue and white striped skort.

Finally, an Update.

I know it has been forever since a blog update. Life has been busy and Amelia has entered a new phase in which she HATES having her picture taken.

Anyway, a few weeks ago Rob took Amelia up to Omaha for the weekend. He had some guy stuff to do so Aunt Kate took charge of spoiling her. These are a few pictures I managed to sneak in before they left for daddy/daughter weekend.
