St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day this year fell on the home opener of  Sporting KC (Kansas City soccer team). The team's main color is blue, but that just wouldn't do for Amelia. She had to be decked out in green. So, I made a stencil of the team's logo out of freezer paper and painted it on one of Amelia's plain white onesies. It turned out much better than I thought, but don't look too close.

Memory Game

My craft supplies are overtaking my crafty corner. In order to get it back under control, I've been trying to come up with projects that use up scraps. Here I used some of my scraps to make Amelia a memory game. The back of each piece is a dark blue and there are 10 different pairs to match. Amelia is a little too young to play it the correct way, so we just put all the pieces face up. She thinks it is a great game!

Hungry Dolly

Amelia has been a little obsessed with Dolly lately. She decided that Dolly wanted to eat lunch with her on Saturday. Here she is feeding Dolly an orange. Dolly also had some pizza and a drink of milk.

Dolly's Shoes

Amelia's aunt Meredith came to visit a few weekends ago. She put Amelia's shoes on Dolly's feet. Amelia thought it was pretty cool. Here she is replicating it.

Naughty Corner

Rob put Amelia in the naughty corner for about 30 seconds around a month ago. That was the only time she'd ever been there. For some reason, last week she decided that it was fun to go to the corner and pretend to cry. You can tell she thought it was fun.

St. Patrick's Pillow

Since Valentine's Day is long gone and I decided that Amelia needed a new pillow cover for each holiday, it was time for St. Patrick's Day. I didn't want to use the typical 4 leaf clover since I wanted it to be more subtle. Chevrons have been all the rage on crafty blogs lately, so I attempted to recreate the pattern. They could have been a little smaller, but they aren't too bad for a first attempt.

Cooking Time

I have been trying to get my sisters' and my play kitchen spruced up for Amelia. I finally got it finished enough for her to play with. She loved it immediately and went to work cooking a gourmet dinner for us.

Amelia's Quilt

When Rob and I found out we were having Amelia, I knew I'd have to make her at least one quilt. I couldn't decide between two different patterns, so I came to the logical conclusion that she must have both. I managed to get one of them done before Amelia made her appearance. I just finished the second one. Isn't that sad? She's 20 months old. Just a little late.

I can't decide if I should call this Sassy Spinners or Prissy Pinwheels. I'm leaning towards Sassy Spinners, it is more fitting for Amelia's personality (in a good way). The tutorial was found here.

Hello, Grandma?

Amelia pulled out our Wii remotes today and decided to give Grandma a call. She had a really nice conversation with her.

Hooded Towels

Amelia had totally outgrown her cute little baby hooded towels. They also weren't very absorbent or warm for the poor girl. With a quick google search, I managed to find this tutorial. A few scraps later and Amelia had 3 new big, warm towels. She's much happier after bath time now that she stays warm!
