Things Amelia Loves

This is the last of the scheduled posts. Assuming this worked, I should do these more often. You get more updates and I only have to find an hour on one day of the week to set them up. It's a win-win for everyone.

 

Amelia is so much fun! She is quite the busy girl and always on the go. Here are some of the things she is loving at the moment:

Giving the dog his ball

Being chased and then caught and tickled

Crawling up the stairs as fast as possible

Pushing around her shopping cart and popper toy

Being upside down

Reading books

Baths

Playing the piano

Putting on mama or dada's shoes and trying to walk

Head, Shoulders......

Knees and toes, knees and toes.

Amelia loves that song, probably because I've been singing it to her since she was itty bitty.  She also really likes 'This little piggy went to market, this little piggy......'

She does a great job of pointing out her body parts when you ask where they are. We used to have to skip her nose because she would stick her finger up it. Now she's moved on to poking herself in the eye. Silly girl!

Sign Language

We've been working on sign language for Amelia since she was about 8-9 months old. She figured out 'milk' right away, but has been taking her time on some others. I think she has finally started to figure out that if she signs 'eat', she gets food. She gets really excited and starts laughing when she signs something and then gets the appropriate response.

Her signing vocabulary is still pretty small, but she's learning them much faster than before.

Amelia's Vocabulary

I realized that it has been quite awhile since I've updated everyone on all the amazing things Amelia can do now. So, I'm going to attempt to be fancy and schedule a few post updates over the next week. If it works, they should update every other day or so. Here goes...

Like her dress? I made it and think it is super cute. Rob says she looks like a clown. Not cool.

Amelia's vocabulary is exploding lately. She learns several new words a week. Her favorite words right now are mama and dog. Some of her new words are pretty advanced for a 14 month old, at least that's what I think. She is a baby genius though.

If you ask her what a dog says, she says 'woof' and a snake says 'ssss'

Here's a video of her saying bubble. Her favorite show is Bubble Guppies and she's watching the intro. It's a little boring, but keep watching, she says it at the end.

Shoes and Sidewalk Chalk

Ta-Da! Amelia loves putting on everyone's shoes and walking around. She got really excited after finally getting on my flip flops. It took about 5 minutes of hard work. That's like 3 hours in baby time!

The Park!

Amelia went to the park playground for the first time today. She really liked running around and exploring. The slide was a huge hit too!

While I was busy making dinner, Amelia was busy making something else.....

 

Notice how there is only one toy in the middle of all the mess? Toys just aren't as much fun as newpaper ads, DVDs, and blankets.

Speaking of messes....we puppy sat an adorable, spunky little puppy last week for a few days. She cured us of any desire to get a puppy anytime soon.

In other news, we have to switch Amelia's daycare. At her new place, we have to have her name on everything. I thought that it would help the transition if she had a nice blanket that she was familiar with. So, I got all crafty and made her the blanket below. I think it turned out pretty cute and I can guarantee no other kid will have the same one!

I've been lapsing on my blogging duties. We went to the lake for vacation and had a great time, Amelia walks around like a champ, and she still has the craziest hair ever!
